THERMOPOLIS - Memorial services for Clinton Edward Beyette, 73, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 25, at Mortimore Funeral Home in Thermopolis with Cal Voigt officiating. Cremation has taken place.
He died suddenly July 18, 2005, at the VA Medical Center in Denver.
He was born May 1, 1932, in Stockton, Calif., the son of Arthur and Nell (Edson) Beyette. Following high school he joined the U.S. Navy in 1952, serving until 1956.
On June 16, 1957, he married Jeanne Shellcross in Stockton.
He was employed as a welder/fabricator all his life. He worked for Oneto-Gotelli, creating and presenting a sombrero golf cart to Lee Trevino and a cart with a wet bar and TV in it to Sammy Davis Jr. He then was employed by West Coast Machinery, where he helped create an automatic calf feeder.
In 1974 he and his wife and her family bought the Thermopolis KOA Campground, operating it until 1983. In the off-season he was employed by Ryan Bros. Trucking for 25 years.
He was a member of WY Gold Prospectors Association of America, WY Prospectors Association and the Fremont County ATV Association. His hobbies included gold prospecting, fishing, camping, woodworking and four-wheeling.
Survivors include his wife and one son, Dale, both of Thermopolis; two daughters, Kim Weaver of Thermopolis and Carrie Hart of Lamar, Colo., and their husbands; two brothers, Arthur of Tacoma, Wash., and Don of Stockton; a sister, Marge Harrison of Stockton; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
