EVANSTON - Services for Ervie D. Kennedy, 46, will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at Randolph L.D.S. Church. Interment will follow in Randolph Cemetery, Randolph, Utah.
Viewing will be today, July 20, at Crandall Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Thursday in Evanston.
He died Saturday, July 16, 2005, after battling a lifelong illness.
He was born in Kemmerer on April 30, 1959, to Fern and June Elaine (Davison) Kennedy. He met and married Shirley Jeffesen on March 25, 1983. They were sealed in the Ogden, Utah, Temple on June 26, 1984.
He spent his childhood and young adult years in Randolph, Utah. He graduated from South Rich High School in May of 1977. He rode saddle bronc in the high school rodeo circuit and participated in the high school choir. He had a great love of life and made friends easily with his witty sense of humor.
He decided to become a welder at age 12 and pursued his ambition throughout his life. He practiced many hours, always looking for ways to improve his talent. He served a mission in the Arcadia California Mission from 1979 to 1981.
He was known to his children as "Daddy Ervie" and to his friends as "Papa Smurf."
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Kennedy of Plain City, Utah; three children, Wyatt Fern, Heather Ann, and David Ervie all of Plain City, Utah; four sisters, Norma "Tootsie" Eastman of Woodruff, Utah, Sally Davidson of Riverton, Montreuil Fox of Evanston and Kande Dean of Randolph, Utah; and his mother, June Elaine Volser of Randolph, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Eileen Brianna.
