Fort Caspar Museum is pleased to announce the recent grant award for "Journeys through Wyoming’s Past: A Summer Reading Series Kick-Off Event," from the Wyoming Humanities Council. The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event will feature two prominent Wyoming authors as they share their love of history with youth. Eugene Gagliano of Buffalo will read his books "C is for Cowboy: A Wyoming Alphabet Book," and "Four Wheels West: A Wyoming Number Book."
Jackson resident Kenneth Thomasma is the author of the “Amazing Indian Children” book series. He will read portions of "Naya Nuki: Shoshoni Girl Who Ran." A hands-on activity will take place between the two presentations. The event serves as a kick-off for a summer reading program focusing on Wyoming history for youth.
The program begins mid-June with a Pioneers Book Club for ages 5-8 and an Explorers Book Club recommended for ages 9 and up.
