LANDER -- A Texas newspaper editor missing since Wednesday was found at a rest stop near here this morning, and taken to the Lander Regional Hospital.

A deputy with the Fremont County Sheriff's Department found LaDawn Garland in a white Dodge pickup at the Diversion Dam rest stop west of Lander just before 7 a.m., according to patrol Sgt. Jerry Evagelatos.

Garland, managing editor of the Bosque County News in Meridian, Texas, was last heard from at 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to local reports, when she called her husband from the area Best Buy to ask what he and her son wanted for dinner.

Law enforcement officials from the Texas Rangers and nearby counties had been searching for Garland since Thursday.

A passing motorist saw Garland early today parked at the Wyoming rest stop, and called authorities because she thought it appeared Garland might require help, Evagelatos said.

When the sheriff's deputy arrived, he called an ambulance, which transported Garland to the Lander hospital, where she remained at noon today. No further information was available regarding her condition.

When authorities ran Garland's name and birth date through an interagency computer network, they found she was listed as a missing person, Evagelatos said, and Texas law enforcement agencies were informed immediately.

Although Garland attended school in Texas, she is a Wyoming native, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported.

" Please keep us posted via your web site.

We cannot get any information about what is going on in Texas. "

" If I had to live in Texas, I'd probably sneak off to Wyoming too. Leave the poor gal alone. Probably wanted some fresh air and cold water for a change. "

" Who Cares? Do you want to know when I'm going hunting this year so you can write a "news" story about it? I will be missing for 3 weeks. I might require medical attention in someone's opinion. My neighbor had a cat, but I haven't seen it in a couple days. Do you guys want the story? I agree with "Escape from Waco". Maybe she didn't know how to speak spanish. Some of you will get that, but the dumbed down, I mean the majority of you, will not. Yes this includes all the Obama voters and most of the McCain voters. "

" Dale be quiet, no one wants to listen to your ignorant rants...You do not represent Wyoming. "
