Editor:

I got a kick out of the news article in the Sheridan Press about how there hasn't been any camping activities hardly in the mountains, because of too much snow.

What happened to all the "Global Warming" that the hero of the Democrats, Al Gore, has been preaching? I thought we were all supposed to burn up because cows belch and power plants smoke. Hmmmm.

Is there something fishy going on? Maybe the Republicans have gotten Mother Nature to turn down the thermostat so they can show how foolish people are for believing this bull.

This environmentalist wacko movement has become a kind of religion, with Al Gore as their pope. They are using their religion to prevent new power plants, oil refineries, oil drilling, and tread on property rights.

By the way, where was ol' Al when we had the coldest winter and the coldest wettest spring in decades? Farmers couldn't even plant their crops because of the cold wet weather.

After a year ago, when Gore couldn't preach at a show in New York City because it was canceled due to blizzards, he has been doing his snake oil show below the equator where the seasons are the opposite, and it is hot during our winter here.

And by the way, he and his leftist friends have a new story now. Tired of people laughing at his "Global Warming' story, they now call it "Climate Change." And they say it is colder now because the ocean's currents have changed. They always have a way out.

But aren't the oceans part of the globe? Can't they get warm too? Not in ol' Al's religion, I guess.

The sad part of all this, is that parents have let the government schools brainwash their kids into believing all this baloney. And, they are adamant about it, too.

But, in the meantime Al Gore gets paid $125,000 dollars a show. Paid for by schools and other taxpayer funded organizations.

I believe this will be known to historians as the global warming hoax, when actually it was a 9-year drought almost as bad as the dust bowl days of the 1930s.

In the meantime Al Gore rakes in the money. As P.T. Barnum, the circus owner, said, "A fool is born every minute."

So, really, who is the fool?

" Yes, Billy, there is something fishy going on. Snow in June and another 500 year flood in the midwest (the 2nd in 15 years), unprecedented flooding around the world. In spite of the snow in Wyoming, polar ice masses continue to recede, fish are going extinct in the North Sea due to the rising temperature of that body of water. World deserts continue to expand as water in the western US is being fought over by competing states. The world's climate is shifting and one who seemingly has not been beyond the Wyoming borders or read anything beyond mainstream media and right wing propaganda is in no position to opine about global climate change. "

Yes it's now "climate change", I don't know where these people get off telling the earth how to cycle. These are the same ones who believe in pangia, ice covered earth, ice melted, oceans warmed pangia moved apart. Where in the earth's cycles do they want us to stay? 1995's climate or the climate of 3billion years ago? "

" Billy, you simply don't understand. Just 'cause the earth is 4 1/2 billion years old and many ice ages have come and gone, there is no excuse for climate change unless it is man caused. The earth worshippers and their high priest Algore have decreed the planet's temperture and weather patterns must remain just as they were in 1950? Oh wait, I remember the crazy weather back then; it was due to the atomic bomb tests . Never mind. "

" Even with all the enviro-fundamentalist loonieness Doomsday Prophet Gore has been spreading like fertilizer over the years, Rev. Al Gore's own personal EGI number (Energy Gluttony Index) rose by another 10% in the past year alone.

Al Gore's personal home, err... mansion, is still using over 20 times the energy of the average American family home per month, burning through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity last year, generated by those earth-murdering power plants he vociferously condemns.

tennesseepolicy.org/main/article.php?article_id=764

If the Global Warming Cult's High Priest, Al Gore really believed the eco-fundamentalist religious nonsense he babbles on about, he'd start living within the sustainable means of the Earth, instead of living like an irresponsible pig, hogging energy resources others around the world desperately need, while helping to reduce the "Earth's fever."

Doomsday Prophet Gore reminds me of those Televangelists who used to be on Sunday morning TV, begging for support (money), and during the week, spent their time driving around in their Porsches and showing off their mansions, saying, "I'm, a representative of God, and God deserves to drive a Porsche, and live in a mansion." The only noticeable difference is, Gore proclaims himself a representative of Mother Gaia, instead of "God," and Gore tools around in a Gulfstream private jet that spews out tons of CO2 per hour of operation, instead of a nice, shiny Porsche.

Sign the Personal Energy Ethics Pledge, Reverend Energy Hog Gore, and join the responsible people of the Earth!

According to the right wing group Tennessee Policy's 2007 press release, Gore used 18,400 kilowatt hours per month in 2006. they claim his usage "rose" 10% to 17,768 this year.

" Oceans are going to be the biggest threat associated with global warming. If the ocean temperature rises too much, the natural polar inversion that has occurred for millions of years could cease to exist, essentially killing all life on the planet. The threat of that is real but small. What is definitely occurring is the acidification of the ocean as more carbon is dissolved in ocean waters. This occurs both because of larger atmospheric concentrations and higher ocean temperatures, and could lead to the destruction of vast swaths of ocean life. There are already documented cases of species going to the brink of extinction because of ocean acidification. You all should watch the BBC documentary Planet Earth, and specifically the last episode, for a thorough and unbiased review of the evidence. "

And the "why not" is simple; when you lie once, you must lie again. In time the liar will be caught. Second, when you force people to change what do they do? They fight change. So why not use our social tools to include government and economics to create sound and lasting change for the better? Why not create stronger incentives for people to do the right things? Once business finds a way to make anything profitable, they will do it to meet consumer demand. We have to work with human nature, not against it, or this and any other project will always fail. " LOLOL Wow INKY that whole WSJ article is about How insurance company are using flawed data inputed into a computer program to show worse case results in order to raise premiums And profits.

EXerpt from WSJ Report:

Perhaps the most prominent critic to surface is Karen Clark, an economist who founded one of the first cat-modeling firms two decades ago. Today, she warns about the programs' misapplication.

After Katrina, she attended insurance-company meetings to discuss "what went wrong" and concluded that there were more problems with how insurers were using the models than with the models themselves.

Companies that rely too heavily on cat-model data "are subjecting their businesses and their customers to the volatility of computer models," says Ms. Clark, who now runs a Boston cat-model consulting business. "The models are being used as if they produce definitive answers rather than uncertain estimates." Ms. Clark says she advises clients to use them in conjunction with other factors, such as broad historical data.

To be sure, insurers themselves are facing higher rates from the reinsurance companies that backstop their claims. The reinsurers, and the financial ratings agencies that assess the health of carriers, are also using the controversial newer models.

Insurance companies say their cat models are generally reliable and credit them with sharply reducing the number of carriers that have failed following major disasters in recent years.

This is a perfect example of how some businesses use peoples fears of the Unknown future to make huge profits. The green movement is NOT about saving the planet.! it is about MONEY plain and simple!

Loretta Andreasson has lived in the same Cape Cod ranch house in Harwich, Mass., for 30 years, and in all that time, a hurricane hasn't come close to damaging her property. But in late 2006, her longtime insurer, Patrons Mutual Insurance Co., decided the risk was too great and dropped her policy. The company says it chose not to renew 844 policies in the Cape in 2006, based primarily on a 107% increase in their cost of reinsurance. Patrons acknowledges that it used a cat model from RMS in its decision-making. "
