Wyoming teens and young adults believe that methamphetamine is low-risk and easily accessable, according to a new statewide survey by the Wyoming Meth Project.

The study shows that 23 percent of teens see little or no risk in trying meth, and more than half of teens said meth is easily obtainable from within the community.

30 percent of teens and nearly 50 percent of young adults in the survey indicated that they believe there are significant benefits to meth use, including weight loss and increased happiness.

The Wyoming Meth Project, launched in June 2008, was created to educate the state's young people of the risks of methamphetamine.

" When a kid is told that the devil weed and meth are as bad as each other, this is the result. He smokes a little weed, finds out that it's not as bad as school made it out to be, so he decides to see what else he's being lied to about. "

" Tape worms also help with weight loss and that too should improve happiness. Our kids today are the dumbest we've ever raised and only thier equally dumb parents are to blame. "

" The next kid we ( you, me, us, them ) lose to meth will be just a blub in the paper, a blotch in some cemetary, and $20 in some "hook-up's" pocket. Typical bureacratic response--hide and watch. "
