I really enjoy the electronic version of the Casper Star-Tribune. It allows me to read the paper and comments (BULL and flounder crack me up) no matter where I am.

On Thursday, Aug. 28th, the electronic letters page had a total of 23 letters published, with 10 bashing Cynthia Lummis. It sure didn't take the Trauner attack machine long to get the letter templates distributed.

At least Cynthia has the gravitas to speak for herself.

" Strange rules in the political game this year: First, natives by choice are disqualified from holding office; Second, citizen critics are not to speak up, just listen. Next? No believing "misstatements?" "

" Mr. Criswell, Perhaps there are a lot more people out there ready to state, outright, their disgruntlement than there were before. Have you ever stopped to think about that? Most people are quite capable of making up their own minds, and taking their own stands on issues that affect them and many of these people are tired of the same 'ol, same ol' politics as usual in this State and are now voicing those opinions in these forums. Not everyone is willing this time around to be swayed just because a candidate has an (R) behind their name, and therefore, everything that candidate says is 'golden' and will be believed anymore. The voters of this State are growing ever more savvy to the b.s. that the candidates spout, and are more likely now, than ever before, to come out and put the candidates on the spot when they say things that disturb them. That is a GOOD thing! Oh, and by the way, these people that are voicing their opinions sure don't need 'templates' to state what they have to say.
Sure Lummis has the 'gravitas' to speak for herself with her own 'attack machine', that's part of her problem isn't it? But when Wyoming citizens decide to speak up for themselves, they are doubted and dissed by people such as yourself. If there are a number of letters that point out a particular politician's flawed perception on an issue, perhaps they should listen up. If they don't have the 'cahones' to take the criticism, perhaps they lack the strength, or the convictions, needed for public office. "

" Jim - are you sure these letters are being sent by the Trauner attack machine? There has been an awful lot of anger surrounding the Lummis group - this has turned Republicans off. You GOP fools should have thought long and hard who would have been the best candidate to beat Trauner in the general election. That candidate was Mark Gordon. My, you'll all feel plenty foolish come November when the great State of Wyoming sends a DEM to DC. "

" I was at a Dem rally in Cody last night ( one of those six impossible things before breakfast that Lewis Caroll wrote about ). I spoke with Gary for a few minutes, and the subject of the Cynthia quote came up. Gary's an honest guy . I believe him when he says he was as surprised about the huge statewide backlash to the Lummis Foot In Mouth hoopla as anyone. It wasn't just the CST Letters and Comments page.It seems to be across the board, statewide.

Sorry to break the news to you , Jim Criswell. There is no Trauner Attack Machine. You have the wrong party and the wrong candidate(s) there... "

" Hope our comments make your day Criswell , because your ignorant comments sure make ours. Sort of like that pack of idiots up in Wyarno. The problem with narrow minded people ( Republicans ) , is they cant stand the truth. Once upon a time I used to be one of those GOP fools , but I was saved by the Independent Gods. There really is a life outside the sheep pen , Criswell , you should try it sometime , it will make your hocks heal right up. ROFLMAO. "
