The citizens of Green River and Rock Springs are enjoying the benefits of clean indoor air. The recently passed ordinances have provided our citizens with decreased exposure to second-hand smoke.

The benefits of this cleaner air include decreased absorption of the harmful chemicals found in second-hand smoke, a decreased number of nonsmokers dying of lung cancer and lower rates of respiratory and ear infections in our children.

Remember, there is no known safe level of exposure to second-hand smoke. I invite the whole of Wyoming to join us for the Great American Smoke Out, Nov. 20. All of Wyoming should benefit from clean indoor air!

TERESA WEYER, Green River

" I agree with the woman who wrote the letter to the editor. Public smoking bans are great, and we need one statewide! "

" We need a statewide ban on alcohol since I do not like it. I do not want my taxes paying the cost of medical care for destroyed livers, court costs, incarceration costs, lost work productivity, domestic violence/child abuse, and DUI deaths. I also would add taking prescription drugs and driving when you are not supposed to be operating. I could go on; BTW, alcohol addiction/abuse shortens life by about 30 years.

We need a statewide ban on store purchased canned food or other processed foods. If it is not organic you can’t get it. All those chemicals in those processed and cans of food are unhealthy. No Tran’s fats used or sold for use for business or private food preparation. I don't like it so you cannot have it. As a matter of fact only low calorie snacks are ok the rest of the junk food has to go.

I do not even want you near me smelling of the last greasy animal carcass you gnawed on.

We need a statewide ban on using cell phones or any other device while driving. I do not want to be saddled with higher taxes for long term medical and higher insurance because of your inability to walk and chew gum at the same time when it results in an accident.

As a matter of fact we need a statewide ban on anything that could remotely cause us any harm. This is especially true if your behavior at all interferes with my being out and about or if it starts using my taxes to care for you or otherwise impacts my life or annoys me.

On a side note you cannot get it completely removed from the state. You have no control over federal land or the reservations. Tobacco is also used by certain spiritual belief systems in ceremony’s and no law can be found to be constitutionally sound if it impacts the free exercise of a religion.

So keep pushing and someone will get tired and push back and you will be on the receiving end. "

" Interesting that AmozonJude will fight for "Her Right" to enjoy a smoke inside a bar or resturant, but would gladly stifle anyones right to enjoy Yellowstone on a snowmobile. "

" edw, you get to bring some 300 of them loud, animal scaring machines this time.... then in when spring hits and you see not to many wildlife think about it , did you scare them so bad they died they wasted their energy running from machines, and could not hunt for food???? "

" Show me some stats that is the case A-J. You can't. But Gods forbid I intrude on your "right". Something you can do in the toxic filled environment of your own home. Breath your toxic air, Jude. Leave the air I breath alone. 10 years ago I believed as you did, Jude. Then I quit smoking and saw exactly how vile and nasty it is to sit near, and try to eat when someone else is puffing away near by. "
