FISH

Ice and fishing conditions reported Tuesday. Check ice thickness and use extreme caution. Conditions can change daily.

Ice fishing is good at Alcova and Pathfinder reservoirs. Anglers are catching trout on minnows and sometimes worms. Lots of good, thick ice at both lakes.

The 19th Annual HAWG Derby at Pathfinder Reservoir is this Saturday and Sunday. Register for $25 at Sloane's, Rocky Mountain Discount Sports, Sportsman's Warehouse or the Marina at Pathfinder to vie for a share of $56,000 in cash and prizes.

- Yolanda Strand, Sloane's General Store in Alcova

Trout fishing is fair on the Gray Reef of the North Platte River for those who can stand the wind and cold. The upper section has some open water and anglers have had some luck using midge nymphs, scuds, red rock worms and red San Juan worms.

- Mark Boname, Platte River Fly Shop in Casper

After a slow week, the ice fishing picked up a little bit at Glendo Reservoir last weekend for anglers using minnows, jigging spoons or jigging slabs for perch and walleye.

- Bob Shelver, Curly's Leisure Sports in Douglas

Fly fishing for trout is good on the Lower Shoshone tailwater fishery. Lots of action on-top during midge and BWO hatches from about 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nymphs and streamers are working well when the trout aren't keying on surface hatches.

- Tim Wade, North Fork Anglers in Cody
