ROCK SPRINGS - The Sweetwater County School District No. 1 board is discussing the possibility of bringing six-man football to Farson-Eden High School.

Farson-Eden has not had a football program since 1990. However, it may make a return in the 2009-10 school year.

Farson-Eden principal Greg Lasley says surveys and public meetings showed support for the idea.

However, Athletic Director Dan Mitchelson says the cost of creating a field, hiring a coaching staff, providing equipment and travel will be expensive.

School board members say a middle school program also would have to be created to feed players into high school.
