A 21-year-old Gillette driver's attempt to avoid hitting deer on Interstate 90 resulted in the death of his 23-year-old passenger, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Brandon J. Foster of Gillette was killed when the 1994 Dodge pickup in which he was riding rolled one and a half times about three miles from Moorcroft in Crook County at about 11:19 p.m. Thursday, a report from the patrol said today.
The pickup was headed east on the interstate when it encountered a herd of deer. The driver, Vance D. Sisson, attempted to avoid hitting the animals and went off the roadway, where the pickup rolled.
The two men were both wearing seat belts, the patrol said. Foster was declared dead at the scene. Sisson was treated and released at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette.
