The Natrona County School District will submit a $135 million facilities plan to the state to move forward on several projects.

The district has been working with officials from the Wyoming School Facilities Commission over the past few months developing the plan, said Mark Antrim, associate superintendent of facilities and technology, at part of Monday's school board meeting.

The district and the state are focusing on projects that have been funded through the design stage, which include CY Middle School, Evansville Elementary School, Park Elementary School, Pineview Elementary School and the new high school, Antrim said.

The district is also looking at building three new elementary schools to meet the needs of the school community.

"We'll bring this to you on June 25 for approval," Antrim said. "We need you to have the opportunity to review this plan."

The plan then must be submitted to the school facilities commission by June 29.

For CY Middle School, the district is asking for about $24 million for construction of a 111,000-square-foot facility, district plans indicated. With the Evansville and Park elementary schools the district is looking at about $12 million each for 60,000-square-foot facilities. Park will also need $100,000 for removing the existing school at the end of the project and $750,000 in expenses for property acquisition, district information indicated.

For Pineview Elementary, the district is asking about $13.5 million for a new 60,000-square-foot facility. For the new high school, the district is looking for $4 million for 40 acres of land plus some site development, and about $44.6 million for the new 202,604-square-foot facility.

Some of the other projects include property acquisition, prototype design and site development for a new east side and west side elementary school, additions to Sagewood Elementary and Bar Nunn Elementary, a remodel/replacement analysis for Natrona County High School and Kelly Walsh High School, renovations and additions to the district facility operations and remodeling the existing Central Services Facility.

Antrim also told the board that the facilities commission will pay for several positions in the district. The ones that will be paid 100 percent by the state include the facilities and planning construction manager, the major maintenance manager, two administrative specialist positions, an accounting position and a facilitator.

The state will pay 60 percent of the salary for the executive director of facilities and technology.
