Authorities on Friday arrested a woman suspected of stealing a pickup truck that belongs to a Natrona County sheriff's deputy.

Another sheriff's deputy stopped the pickup behind the Sandbar Lounge in downtown Casper and arrested the driver, 18-year-old Brianna Michelle Smith, on suspicion of drunken driving, police said.

The same pickup had been reported stolen about 25 minutes earlier from the driveway of a Stagecoach Drive home. The truck's owner told police he had put an AR-15 rifle and a shotgun into his truck to go to work, then started it up, before helping his wife carry their son into their home. He heard squealing, and when he came outside, his truck, a 2002 GMC extended cab, was gone.

The pickup is a private vehicle.

Smith told police she'd been told to go pick up a man named Pablo and that the truck belonged to him, the affidavit stated. She was booked on suspicion of grand larceny and driving under the influence.

The two guns were still in the truck, but the truck's owner said they had been moved. He also said someone had changed the radio station, moved up his seat and gone through his bags.
