Rehab hospital receives accreditation
Elkhorn Valley Rehabilitation Hospital earned the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization's Gold Seal of Approval last week.
JCAHO conducted on-site visits of the facility Feb. 20-22.
The commission evaluates and accredits nearly 15,000 health care organizations and programs every year.
The accreditation recognizes the hospital's dedication to complying with JCAHO's strict standards, Linda Lawlis, of the hospital, said in a press release.
Elkhorn Valley, a 40-bed rehab hospital, saw its first patient Jan. 21. It is the only free-standing rehab facility in the state.
