The public is welcome to attend a panel discussion this afternoon focusing on "An Inside Look at Political Life - the Pros and Cons of Public Service."
The event, at 1:15 p.m. at Casper College, Roberts Commons, is hosted by Gamma chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an education sorority, but the public is welcome.
The discussion will be led by Casper College instructor Erich Frankland. Panelists expected include Mike Sullivan, Kate Sarosy, Pat Nagel and other local leaders. For more information, call Nancy at 265-4038.
The annual Casper Youth Baseball camp for ages 9-18 starts today at The Arena and runs through Sunday. Cost is $85. Camp instructors are Rick Mathews, Tony Diaz, Tom Browning, Josh Kalinowski and Dexter Fowler of the Colorado Rockies. An autograph dinner and auction will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m., in the Hall of Champions, also at the Fairgrounds. For more information, call 234-7087.
Community of Hope Church, 2955 E. 2nd St., presents "How to get Out of Debt in 5-7 Years, including your mortgage, with the money you already make," presented by Bob Marette from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees should take a list of their debt and a calculator. There is no cost for the workshop, but all attendees are asked to take two cans of food for a food ministry. Continental breakfast and child care are provided. Call 472-4673 to make reservations. Organizers say this is not a financial seminar, how to get rich quick or how to cut your taxes seminar. It does not involve insurance, securities or debt consolidation. Attendees will leave knowing when they will be debt free.
A free sampling of dance classes offered at the Casper Recreation Center, 1801 E. 4th Street, will be held from 1-4 p.m. Wear comfortable clothes or leotards and take dance shoes if available. Brothers of the Third Wheel will have its monthly meeting at Casper's Family Restaurant at 10 a.m. BTW is an organization for those interested in trikes (three-wheeled motorcycles) and triking. The Central Wyoming Hospice "Circle of Life" children's grief support group will meet from 1-3 p.m. for bowling. This support group is open to children age 6-16 who have experienced the death of a loved one. The group meets the second Saturday of each month throughout the school year. Tonight at 7 p.m., "Astromyths" will playfully circle around your consciousness, taking you into a flight through light and sound, which will dazzle your senses and increase your knowledge, until it ultimately changes the way you look at the night sky forever.
At 8 p.m., "Black Holes" will take you on a journey through one of the most mystifying, awe-inspiring phenomena in the universe: a black hole. Where do they come from? Where do they go? How do we find them? Admission is $2.50 per person per show. For more info, call 577-0310.
