Strayers celebrate 50th

CASPER - Warren and Regina Strayer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 7, 2008. A celebration will be held at a later time when they will renew their vows.

Warren Strayer Jr., and Regina Hepting were married March 7, 1958, in a German ceremony, first by the German state and then later that day in her church in Munich, where he was serving in the Army with the 2nd field hospital.

They have lived in Casper since 1973 and prior to that in the Denver area.

He was raised in Rockford, Ill., and graduated from college in Denver. She was raised in southern Germany.

He retired from Memorial Hospital in Casper, where he worked in the nuclear medicine department as department head. She was a homemaker and ran a daycare for many years.

They remain active after retirement, taking care of their rental units and as volunteers with Central Wyoming Rescue Mission, Habitat for Humanity and Joshua's Storehouse, on whose board he serves. They are also active at Highland Park Community Church.

They have traveled out of the country many times and enjoy exploring new places, as well as going home to Munich, Germany, to visit her family.

They have three children, Warren III, now deceased; Viktor Strayer and his wife, Julie, of Casper and their three children, Paulina, Natassia and Madelaine; and Tanya Stolt and her husband, Greg, of Eugene, Ore., and their two children, Andrew and Lydia.
