We already have an optional 1 cent sales tax voted on the books. Back in the 1980s we voted to go from 4 cents to 5 cents to help pay for the rec swimming pool, events center, golf course and water park, and several more.

We now have those things - it is time to remove that tax, or use it on other good things like the library and the courthouse. If we vote in 6th cent tax it will never go away, either. It is just words.
