President-elect Barack Obama must stop Pentagon waste.

The Pentagon's inspector general has unsuccessfully tried to audit military spending since 1990 and says a review will not be completed until 2016.

Reports show the Army cannot account for about one trillion dollars in 2007 alone.

Military spending for Iraq and Afghanistan is near $700 billion. This wasteful stupid insane war in Iraq has now cost more than that stupid waste of tax dollars spent on the Vietnam War and it went on for 10 years.

Why is it that our elected members of Congress are not asking where has all this money gone?

And there is the Defense Contract Audit Agency, which is supposed to oversee the tax dollars that flow from the Pentagon

to military contractors. But they have rubber stamped military contracts and ignored fraud.

Look at all the no-bid contracts awarded to Vice President Dick Cheney's Halliburton and KBR for projects in Iraq where Dick Cheney will receive his millions in deferred payments.

Also the Army is still paying on a bunch of robotic war machines which is a waste of tax dollars, and billions more in new fighter jets and ships that will never be used in the type of warfare the United States faces.

We have an economic crisis that threatens the lives of all little working people. And our newly elected President Obama needs to end that Bush-Cheney idea of less taxes for the very rich - with their phony idea that some crumbs will fall from the rich people's overloaded table on to the starving poor who are licking the floor to survive,

Any member of Congress who has a conflict of interest in any contracts with the Pentagon needs to be exposed and rooted out of Congress.

As the collapse of Wall Street reminds us, a culture of no accountability endangers us all.
