With regard to Mr. Ledbetter's open letter to the Casper Star-Tribune on Monday, Sept. 1, I would guess there has not been a lot of interest from the media following the unfortunate loss of his son a few years ago. However, as a father, I understand wholeheartedly Mr. Ledbetter's intent on settling this matter.

If Mr. Ledbetter is giving an accurate representation of what has transpired, which I would believe is the case, then what is there to hide? I realize I am undoubtedly out of the loop pertaining to the facts in the case, but what I don't understand is that if there was no wrongdoing and no crime committed, what harm is there to release information to a grieving father?
