Leo Sanchez seemed to be very upset as to my opinion of Lynne Cheney and her husband. Unfortunately, Leo should realize many people don't find this couple to their liking. That's just the way it is! Lynne Cheney is someone I would never be envious of. I, personally, don't go around envying people. My life doesn't have time or a place for envy.

It seems to me that Leo's poor choice of "fightin' for Lynne" words, and his accusing me of envy of Lynne Cheney, makes little common sense. But that is Leo's problem, not mine.

As far as having a football field named for the vice president, that is great if the man is someone we can be proud of. But it isn't good reasoning to name the field after him just because he is a vice president!

I always thought we named special places after someone we could be proud of, or someone who didn't bring any shame to the city or state. Hmm, maybe I am wrong. It's the same as giving such an honor to Hitler, just because he ruled Germany!

We are in a heap of trouble if we have no one better to name the field after, or other memorable places. Shame on us, or shame on those who did give this vice president the honor of having the football field named after him.

I guess I would have to sadly say that Sanchez must not read the paper or listen to news on TV, or he would agree with every word I wrote in my letter. If not, that makes no difference to me. I don't see any reason to kiss up to those kind of people. They sure don't do good for me, my family, or my country.

Isn't that why they were put in office, to do good? This vice president is a war-monger, as is our president. And in case Leo hasn't heard any of Lynne's rhetoric, she thinks her husband is correct in all he thinks or does, so I believe that makes her a war-monger, too. She, as is Laura Bush, are in the limelight, and will always be open to criticism, either good or bad.

Was Leo's letter to me a "trick or treat"? It did come in the paper on Halloween Day!
