Editor:
The news of dinosaur bones found recently near Newcastle brings back some of our family history.
My father, John E. (Jack) Fisher had to start making his way as a cowboy at age 14, about 1916. He got a job on a ranch near Newcastle.
Daddy worked all summer helping a Colorado professor dig out a fossil, a big dinosaur. In God's plan, the professor tutored this new student every day, everything he said kept for the future in Daddy's mind and mine. The fossil filled three Railway Express wagons.
I was unable to learn which school employed the paleontologist or which Eastern museum received that shipment.
The lesson is clear: Trust God for a good education. Be willing to learn. God always knows what we will need to know.
