When the doors of Natrona County Library open in the morning, there are people waiting to enter the DVD and audio book sections. Some check out a couple of audio books and DVDs each week. They say that it is a free form of entertainment.

Our library is seeing record number of people logging onto their Web sites for free access to the Wall Street Journal and other publications that would otherwise require a paid subscription. They are more likely to use this service when the cannot afford to get their own subscription.

Our Library has also become a resource center for the unemployed, who ask the reference desk personnel for books on how to write resumes, cover letters, use the computers and local newspapers to look for jobs, or to take computer skill classes.

Now job seekers are required to file applications on line, file reports and asked how many words that they can keyboard in a minute. Common questions are how to create a resume, look and apply for on-line jobs or navigate through the Web sites to find government services.

Our librarians are pleased when someone comes back and tells them "I got the job!" Not all are successful, however all know that they can return and use our library to search for answers to help them improve and enjoy their lives.
