RIVERTON - Six people have been killed in six vehicle crashes in the past five days in Fremont County, three in head-on collisions and two in single-vehicle rollovers.

Three of the victims were from Lander. Those killed were Joshua K. Espinosa, 30, Nicholas Christopher Brady, 25, and Dalton L. Growcock, 18. Others killed were Mary Oldman, 68, and Juan M. Herrera, 34, both of Fort Washakie, and Keith Skinner, 72, of Riverton.

All died of trauma, said county Coroner Ed McAuslan, and weather was not a factor in any of the incidents.

The lone survivor of the crashes was the only one who wore a seat belt. He�s 22-year-old Matthew Jimenez of Lander, who was flown Tuesday to the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper with life-threatening injuries. His condition wasn't available Wednesday, protected under rights-of-privacy laws.

Officials have not released details of the Oldman crash, which happened Tuesday afternoon on Ethete Road near Fort Washakie Elementary School around 12:15. Investigating the incident is the Wind River Police Department, an agency that refuses to release details during ongoing investigations. McAuslan said Oldman died Wednesday morning at the Casper hospital.

Herrera died Tuesday morning at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 7:15 about four miles north of Lander. He was a passenger in a truck driven by Jimenez. Espinosa died a couple of hours later at the Wyoming Medical Center.

Wyoming Highway Patrol officials said Espinosa was driving a Ford F350 pickup and Jimenez a Ford F250 when they collided on Wyoming Highway 789 in the center of the roadway. Jimenez's truck caught fire upon impact, according to the patrol report, and was put out by a responding firefighter. Jimenez was extricated, then transported to the hospital.

The crash closed the highway for about three hours while troopers investigated the scene, gathered evidence and cleared the roadway of debris. State officials have not yet determined why the two drivers were in the center of the road.

Brady and Growcock were the two killed in single-vehicle rollovers, both dying at the scene. Brady lost control of his truck on Lyons Valley Road about four miles east of Highway 789 Saturday afternoon and rolled it one and a half times. It came to rest on its top, partially ejecting him from the vehicle. Details of the crash came from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Growcock was also driving a pickup, according to the patrol. He died Monday after rolling his truck three times about a mile east of Jeffrey City on Wyoming Highway 789. He was ejected from the vehicle.

Skinner died Sunday, also at the scene of the crash. He was riding a motorcycle over South Pass when he was struck head-on by a pickup while traveling on Wyoming Highway 28 about 42 miles south of Lander. The driver of the pickup, Kyle Despain, 22, of Big Piney told state troopers he crossed the center line because he had fallen asleep at the wheel. The incident remains under investigation. Skinner was traveling with another motorcyclist who was not involved in the crash.
