Salvation Army needs food, assistance for holiday

People are encouraged to drop off turkeys, hams, potatoes, canned goods and nonperishable goods to help the Salvation Army make it through the holiday season.

Food and financial donations can be dropped off at The Salvation Army Hope Center, at 441 S. Center St.

For those wanting to host a food drive, help sort food, pack food or offer any other assistance, or have questions on how to help, call the Salvation Army at 234-2002.

Salvation Army serves Thanksgiving dinner

The Salvation Army will be serving its 35th annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 625 S. Jefferson St. in Casper. All are welcome - families and singles. Those who would like a ride to the dinner or have dinner delivered, contact Shelley at 234-2002 on or before Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Volunteers are also needed to help pick up individuals and deliver meals.

Food Bank receives donations from Farm Bureau

This past week, the Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies was the recipient of 643 pounds of food, $850 in monetary donations and 18 working man-hours from the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmer and Rancher committee. The food and monetary donations are enough to provide 4,357 meals to Wyoming families who are in need.

Committee members donated their time painting lines on the floor of the Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies to assist with operations of the warehouse.
