UW events

* Nov. 16, 7:30 p.m., the University of Wyoming Percussion Ensemble will perform in the Fine Arts Center concert hall. Admission is free.

* Nov. 17, 4 p.m., Department of Geography Professor and Chair, John Allen, will discuss "Lewis & Clark and Mungo Park: Explorers in Search of a River," in UW's Wyoming Union Family Room. Admission is free.

* Nov. 17, 9 p.m., the University of Wyoming hosts International Night, with a variety of cultural booths being displayed in the lower level of the Wyoming Union. Admission is free.

* Nov. 18, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the University of Wyoming Geological Museum will host its annual Brontosaurus Holiday Bazaar at the Albany County Fairgrounds. Admission is free.

* Nov. 30-Dec. 3, the UW Theatre and Dance Department hosts a performance of "The Nutcracker" each night at 7:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 at the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Tickets are $16, $13 for seniors and $8 for students.

WYDOT public hearing

* Wyoming Department of Transportation officials are encouraging members of the public to comment on the US 287/Laramie to Colorado state line roadway improvement project. Wyoming Public Safety

* Nov. 17, 9 a.m., the Wyoming Public Safety Communications Commission will be meeting in Room 223 of the Emerson Building in Cheyenne, 2001 Capitol Ave. The purpose of the meeting is to adopt the Wyoming Public Safety Radio Communications Rules. Veterans Commission meeting

* Nov. 18, 9 a.m., the quarterly Veterans Commission meeting will be held at the Best Western Tower West Lodge in Gillette, 109 North U.S. 14 and 16. All veterans and interested parties are encouraged to attend. Items on the agenda include realignment of committees, proposed new legislative issues, and scheduling a veterans' outreach clinic. Polka club meeting

* Nov. 19, The Bighorn Mountain Polka Club will meet at the Elks Lodge in Sheridan. The Wyoming Drifters will play for dancing starting at 1 p.m. Members are asked to bring: A-H, desserts; I-O, salads; and P-Z, main dishes. Info: (307) 674-6550.

Bridger-Teton revision workshops

* The Bridger-Teton National Forest invites the public to get involved in the revision of the Bridger-Teton Forest Plan. The objective of these workshops is to present information that Forest personnel have collected over recent months concerning current conditions throughout the Forest, and learn what the public sees as the "Need for Change." Each workshop runs from 6-9:30 p.m. The dates and locations are as follows:

* Nov. 27, the Ambulance Barn, 611 Onyx St., in Kemmerer.

* Nov. 28, Pinedale High School in Pinedale.

* Nov. 29, Jackson High School, 1910 W. High School Rd., in Jackson.

* Nov. 30, the Senior Center, 115 Peterson Pkwy., in Thayne.

Lander Community Concert Association

* The 60th Anniversary Season of the Lander Community Concert Association continues with each performance being held in the Lander Valley High School auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. Season subscription tickets are $40 for adults, $15 for students (age 21 and under), and $90 for a family (two adults and affiliated students 21 and under). Sheridan Memorial Hospital event

* Dec. 3, 4:30 p.m., the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host a tree lighting of the Christmas Trees of Love in the hospital lobby. There will be a short program and refreshments provided. Jackson Hole Historical Society events

Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra

* The Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra presents its 2006-07 season entitled, "A World of Color," celebrating the brilliant colors that great composers use in creating masterpieces. Parent-education seminars

* The Wyoming Children's Access Network provides parent-education seminars for divorcing, separated and never-married parents. The seminar is provided monthly in Casper, Cheyenne, Cody, Gillette, Jackson, Lander, Laramie, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Sheridan and Torrington and provides information about the impact of parental conflict on children and teaches the parents skills to help with the difficult transition. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and other adults close to the children are welcome to attend as well.There is a nominal fee for the seminar that may be waived upon request, based on need. UW art exhibit

* The University of Wyoming Up Gallery's new exhibition, "In Search of…" featuring the work of bachelor of fine arts student Michael L. Crook, will be on display through Nov. 18. Located on the main floor of the UW Fine Arts Center, the Up Gallery is open weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Wyoming Arts Council exhibition

* The Wyoming Arts Council will host a new exhibition, "Coil & Weave," featuring the talents of artists Ann Arndt and Jennifer Rife. The show will be on display through Dec. 8, and the WAC Gallery hours are Mon.-Fri., from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The gallery is located at 2320 Capitol Ave. in Cheyenne. Art exhibition opens in Ucross

* The Deborah Ford photography exhibition, "Common Ground/Symbiotic Equivalence," will be on display through Dec. 15 at the Ucross Foundation Art Gallery, 30 Big Red Lane. The exhibit presents 38 framed images of land and life-forms that Ford photographed in Wyoming, Arizona, Minnesota and Oregon. UW art exhibition

* The University of Wyoming Art Museum, in the Centennial Complex at 22nd and Willett Dr., will display paintings from the exhibition, "The Taos Society of Artists, 1915-1927," through Dec. 22. The Taos Society is a group of 12 artists that paint the land and the people of northern New Mexico. "A Woman's Place" exhibit
