ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) - Two people were killed and three others injured when a van rolled over on Interstate 80 about 35 miles east of here.
The crash happened around noon Thursday, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
All five were in a 2005 Toyota van that was eastbound on I-80. When the van drifted onto the left shoulder, Lyle Chester Adams, 69, of Jefferson, Ore., grabbed the steering wheel. The patrol said the van began swerving and went into the median, where it rolled over three times.
Killed were Adams and Michayla Luis, 11, of Jefferson, who was ejected from the van.
Felicity Threet, 18, and Hanna Luis, 8, both of Jefferson, were hospitalized in Rock Springs at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. Hospital officials would not disclose their condition.
Angela Christian, 18, of Jefferson, was taken to the Rock Springs hospital and then flown to University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Threet, who was driving the van, and Luis were listed in good condition Friday; Christian's condition wasn't immediately available.
