MARIE INEZ LOVRIEN

MARIE INEZ LOVRIEN, 92, of Ellsworth, MN, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. Marie was born March 1, 1917 on the Kellen family farm east of Adrian, MN to Nick and Anna (Sudbeck) Kellen. She attended school at St. Adrian Catholic School and married Edmund Lovrien on September 12, 1939 at St. Adrian Catholic Church. The couple lived in Ellsworth, MN and operated the family business,

Lovrien Electric and Plumbing. Edmund died on April 29, 1963 and Marie became the cook for the hot lunch program at Ellsworth Public School. Some years after retirement, she resided at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home.

Marie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellsworth all her adult life where she sang in the adult choir, was active in the Altar Society, and served as a Minister of Communion. She enjoyed baking, cooking and playing cards with family and friends.

Marie is survived by eight children and their spouses: Tom and Monica Lovrien, Polson, MT; Mary and Leo Kozola, Casper, WY; Jim and Jean Lovrien, Northfield, MN; Jerry and Mary Lovrien, Maple Grove, MN; Elmer Lovrien, Minneapolis, MN; Peggy Lovrien, Winona, MN; Lucy and Patrick Burchill, Rapid City, SD; Nancy and Ken Huisman, Ellsworth, MN.

She had thirteen grandchildren, Lori (Steve) Botkin,

Debbie (Andy) Polsin, Ed (Kim) Lovrien, Tom Jr. (Olivia) Lovrien, Kristin Lovrien (and husband Mark Meuwese), Jim Jr. (Kate) Lovrien, Christopher (Amanda) Lovrien, Nicholas Lovrien, Emily Lovrien (and husband, Edouard Duboscq), Nora Lovrien (and husband, Rolf Buehler), Jed (Jessica) Huisman, Matt Huisman and Adam (Dana) Huisman. Marie was proud of her fifteen great-grandchildren. She is survived by three siblings: Clarence Kellen, Adrian, MN, Father Elmer Kellen, Wabasha, MN and a sister, Inez Vint of Fairbury, NE. Marie was preceded in death by her eldest brother Cleophas (1944), her parents, Nick and Anna (the 1960s), and her brother Leander (1980's).

Visitation will be in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ellsworth 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 10 and the Vigil of Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be presided by her brother, Father Elmer Kellen, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Ellsworth. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ellsworth,
