No services are planned at this time for Vernon Willard Patterson. Mr. Patterson died at his home July 8, 2009 at the age of 84. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Patterson was born April 5, 1925 in Mills, Wyoming the son of Alice May Rickett and Orville Patterson. He graduated from NCHS in 1943. Vernon served in the Army during World War II in the Philippines. After the service, he worked in the laboratory for Standard Oil Company until retirement in 1980.
He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and NRA.
He is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Vic Ideen and Karyn Patterson, his second wife and high school sweetheart, June LaVaughn Atkins Candehead, who he married December 12, 1994.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Kay Sheridan in 1980.
