Three Wyoming swimmers have opted to take their skills to Laramie.
Gillette's T.J. Padova and Meghan Swirzcki both signed national letters of intent to swim for Wyoming on Wednesday, according to the Gillette News-Record.
Also, Green River's Mandy Schumacher is expected to sign her letter of intent with UW on Monday, Green River Activities Director Tom Wilson announced Friday.
Padova was the Class 4A athlete of the year and was in on four state meet record-breaking performances, breaking the individual records in the 200 and 500 freestyle and swimming legs of the record-breaking 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays. She finished her high school career with five individual state championships.
Swirzcki was a two-time individual state champion, winning the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke as a junior. She finished as the runner-up in both events this year. She was also part of the two relay records the Camels set this year.
Schumacher was second to Padova in the 200 freestyle this year and finished third in the 500 freestyle. She was runner-up in the 500 freestyle as a freshman and a sophomore.
SIGNING ON: Two other Gillette products signed letters of intent Wednesday, according to the Gillette News-Record. Brady Burgess, a two-time state champion wrestler who won the 160-pound bracket at Class 4A last year, signed with North Dakota State. Also, Jordan Kent, a two-time all-state girls basketball player, signed a letter of intent to play at Division II Nebraska-Kearney.
