Vandiver's future remains uncertain

As has been the case throughout the season, Wyoming enters tonight's game against North Dakota without the services of Aubrey Vandiver.

And UW coach Joe Legerski said the Cowgirls might have to get used to seeing the 5-foot-11 junior on the bench.

Vandiver has been sidelined since last month with a bout of mononucleosis.

"Aubrey is still on a day-to-day basis," Legerski said. "We'll just continue to monitor her and see how she's doing.

"It may be a situation where we redshirt her."

Legerski even provided a timetable for that possible scenario.

"I think we're looking at the first of the year," he said. "At that time we'll see where we are as a team and where Aubrey is as a player."

Without Vandiver, a third-team all-Mountain West Conference selection last season, the Cowgirls have turned the point guard duties over to sophomore Randi Richardson. Richardson responded with 13 points and eight assists in UW's first two games.

"Randi showed us some things," Legerski said. "But there's no doubt that we'd be a better team with Aubrey on the floor."
