Broncos and Tigers and Ducks, oh my!
Wyoming athletics director Tom Burman announced Monday that UW has signed contracts to play Boise State, Missouri and Oregon in three home-and-home football series in the coming years. Burman also announced the Cowboys signed a two-game contract with Weber State, with both games to be played in Laramie.
"It is exciting to add these outstanding football opponents to our future schedules," Burman said in a school release. "In Missouri and Oregon, we've not only added two BCS conference schools to our schedules, but our fans will get an opportunity to see both of those opponents play here in Laramie."
Wyoming will play at Missouri in 2011 and host the Tigers the following season. The Cowboys' home-and-home series with the Ducks will begin with a game at Oregon in 2014. The Ducks will visit War Memorial Stadium in 2015. Wyoming has never played Missouri or Oregon.
The Cowboys will complete a home-and-home series with Boise State this year with a game in Idaho before renewing the series with a home game in 2010. The Broncos, who defeated the Cowboys in Laramie last season and upset Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl, will host Wyoming again in 2011.
The first of Wyoming's two games against Weber State is Sept. 5, 2009. The Wildcats will return to Laramie in 2011.
The Cowboys open the 2007 season at home on Sept. 1 against Virginia, another BCS conference opponent. The game completes a home-and-home series, as Wyoming lost at Virginia last season.
