FIRST QUARTER

New Mexico 7, Wyoming 0

14:45

Frankie Solomon 13 interception return (James Aho kick)

Key play: The Cowboys didn't waste any plays this time - instead giving up the weekly first-drive defensive touchdown on the opening snap. Reinserted starting quarterback Karsten Sween had his first pass batted into the air and returned for a deflating touchdown to give UW another quick hole.

New Mexico 14, Wyoming 0

6:01 (8 plays, 47 yards, 4:46)

James Wright 1 run (Aho kick)

Key play: UW had some success slowing down the Lobos in the red zone, but a debatable penalty got them there in a hurry and the Cowboys ultimately couldn't keep them out of the end zone. Chris Prosinski's pass interference penalty to start the drive got New Mexico moving, and Wright finished it off with a fourth-down dive.

SECOND QUARTER

New Mexico 21, Wyoming 0

5:58 (5 plays, 64 yards, 1:17)

Brad Gruner 1 run (Aho kick)

Key play: Derrick McMahen got too deep on his blitz and Gruner took advantage of the opening with a career-long scramble down the left sideline. The UW safety eventually tracked down Gruner, though he was 52 yards from the line of scrimmage and inside the Cowboys 20-yard line.

FOURTH QUARTER

New Mexico 24, Wyoming 0

7:18 (6 plays, 13 yards, 2:22)

James Aho 37 field goal

Key play: A New Mexico penalty kept the one-sided affair slightly more presentable, erasing a Gruner option run for a touchdown and letting Aho atone for two earlier misses that kept the Cowboys in the game.
