FIRST QUARTER
UNLV 3, Wyoming 0
8:19 (8 plays, 40 yards, 3:35)
Kyle Watson 38 field goal
Key play: The Rebels struggled for the second consecutive drive to move the football, but the Cowboys provided some assistance to open the scoring. Mitch Unrein coughed up 15 yards with a personal foul and John Fletcher jumped offside on a critical third down to help UNLV break through early.
SECOND QUARTER
Wyoming 7, UNLV 3
14:55 (11 plays, 72 yards, 4:30)
Chris Stutzriem 8 pass to Greg Bolling (Nick Landess kick)
Key play: The decision to put the drive in Wynel Seldon's hands paid off instantly, and the more bruising of UW's two senior running backs carried the Cowboys to their first score. Seldon's 10-yard rush with eight defenders in the box near midfield epitomized the switch to a more powerful, successful attack.
Wyoming 7, UNLV 6
9:22 (11 plays, 57 yards, 5:44)
Kyle Watson 36 field goal
Key play: The Cowboys weren't able to slow down UNLV running back Frank Summers, but in a reversal, the Rebels stopped themselves with a costly holding penalty that negated a first down inside the UW 20-yard line. UNLV wasn't able to move the sticks after facing a second-and-18 from the 32 and settled for a second field goal.
UNLV 9, Wyoming 7
0:56 (14 plays, 53 yards, 6:49)
Kyle Watson 38 field goal
Key play: The methodical march downfield featured freshman quarterback Mike Clausen all drive long, but he was at his best on a long third-down scramble with the Rebels backed up and needing 13 yards to move the sticks. He took off up the middle and got 12 yards, not enough for the first down but solid position for a short sneak on the next snap.
THIRD QUARTER
Wyoming 14, UNLV 9
12:34 (7 plays, 71 yards, 2:18)
Chris Stutzriem 28 pass to Chris Johnson (Nick Landess kick)
Key play: If UW felt the touches were out of whack at intermission, it didn't take long to correct the problem. Devin Moore went into the locker room with just seven carries but got four in a row to start the quick drive and take the Cowboys from the 29-yard line to the Rebels 44 in a hurry.
FOURTH QUARTER
UNLV 15, Wyoming 14
14:55 (15 plays, 69 yards, 6:01)
Frank Summers 1 run (Mike Clausen run failed)
Key play: Even with so much to pick from, coach Mike Sanford's gutsy fake punt was easily the turning point. Punter Dack Ishii fired a pass toward the right sideline to Jerriman Robinson on fourth-and-2 from the UW 49-yard line to pick up a critical first down and extend another lengthy scoring drive.
UNLV 22, Wyoming 14
12:15 (3 plays, 24 yards, 1:22)
Mike Clausen 19 pass to Rodelin Anthony (Kyle Watson kick)
Key play: Chris Stutzriem finally made a critical mistake in the passing game, and it was definitely a huge blow to the Cowboys. His forced third-down pass to Brandon Stewart was tipped and picked to give the Rebels great field position, and Clausen made UW pay with a perfect third-down pass of his own.
