Greg Bolling's rehab is right on schedule.

The timetable for the Wyoming receiver actually returning for a game has had a setback though.

New Cowboys coach Dave Christensen announced a pair of suspensions to wideouts on Thursday, and the most severe and perhaps most damaging was to the team's leading receiver.

Bolling's dislocated shoulder wasn't expected to force him out of the lineup in September, but he will miss the first two games for a violation of team standards - including the historic meeting with Texas. Fellow senior Donate Morgan will sit out the season-opener against Weber State.

"We have standards that have been established for our players that we expect them to live up to," Christensen said in a school release. "When they don't follow those standards, they need to understand that there are consequences for their actions."

The impact might not be limited just to the athletic receivers either.

UW's new spread offense relies heavily on the passing game and capable targets, which it doesn't exactly have in abundance.

Morgan was a major disappointment last season with just 11 catches in nine games with a touchdown, and at the end of spring practice he wasn't listed as a starter at either outside position.

On one side he was first in line behind Bolling, who held his starting job despite missing almost all of camp with his injured shoulder.

His surgery and recovery apparently have gone smoothly, but now UW is dealing with a whole other issue.
