One down, two to go.
Wyoming went on the road for the first time since its season opener and won the first of three consecutive road games.
The Cavs beat the Arizona Adrenaline 70-56 on Sunday in Prescott, Ariz., in what was the team's closest game of the year.
"I knew the time was coming," Cavs coach Dan Maciejczak said of the close game. "They are a great football team. We did defensively what we needed to do and our team character was tested."
While the defense was tested, the offense continued its domination of American Indoor Football Association defenses.
Wyoming never trailed and the Adrenaline couldn't stop the Cavs offense.
"Our whole offense played well tonight," Maciejczak said. "A lot was asked of us to score every possession and we did."
Game statistics were not available, but Maciejczak said quarterback Matt Strand played an MVP performance against Arizona. Strand threw multiple touchdown passes and was able to make crucial audibles despite a loud crowd and a band playing behind the Cavs bench.
"He played an exceptional football game," Maciejczak said.
The Cavs continue the road trip Saturday at Utah, then go to New Mexico.
