  5. Zona Moss

    A Northern Arapaho grandmother, Moss was born on the Wind River Reservation in Ethete, Wyoming in 1942. She said, "Growing up we weren't allowed to speak Arapaho at school. But our parents, as soon as we got home, spoke Arapaho to us. They always told us to go by the rules they have set for you (at school). Always go by the rules." She has two children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

  8. Linda Burt

    Linda Burt was born in Denver, Colorado. She came to Superior, Wyoming in the 1970s and settled in Cheyenne in 1983. She is a graduate of the University of Wyoming Law School, and has been Executive Director of the Wyoming Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union since March 2000.

  9. Roy Cohee

    Roy and Barbara Cohee were high school sweethearts and have been married for more than 40 years. They have two adult children. The Cohees own and operate C&Y Transportation, an oilfield service business with 64 employees. Roy was elected to the Wyoming State House of Representatives in 1999 and served as the Speaker of the House from 2006-08.

  10. Tom Forslund

    Tom Forslund's passion, starting in the fourth grade, was politics. "I loved politics. I loved watching elections. I got involved in youth politics during my school years. And I wanted to do something with politics. But I didn't know how to make a living with it. But I wanted to be involved in something associated with politics." Forslund completed an undergraduate degree and went to work in the private sector, but found it was not rewarding at all for him. "So I went back to graduate school, went into public administration and ultimately got into local government and have been deep into politics ever since. It's a different way, not the classical way. But I figured out a way to make a living chasing my passion."

  11. Oralia Mercado

    Oralia Mercado, who was formerly Wyoming's EEO affirmative action officer, has been the executive director of Mountain Plains Agricultural Service for 20 years. The service contracts with ranchers and farmers in just about every state west of the Mississippi River and Alabama to provide guest workers. A single mother of five sons, Mercado accomplished her life's goal on her own by finishing college. She graduated from Casper College with an associate's degree in communication and from the University of Wyoming with a B.A. in humanities and fine arts in 1999, 40 years after graduating from Worland High School.

  12. Frank Shamrock

    Frank Shamrock is a mixed-martial arts fighter based out of San Jose, Calif. He is considered by many to be the prototype of modern mixed-martial arts and has earned the nickname, "The Legend," for his toughness and wins over some of the best fighters of his generation: Sebastion "Bas" Rutten, Tito Ortiz and Phil Baroni included.

  13. First baby of 2009 will grow up in a different world
