"Wyoming is a state with a proud history and noble traditions. These are our heritage, and they are worth preserving. But in our quest to honor that past, we must never forget that those men and women who forged our state didn't settle the mountains and the high plains in search of the same - they came here to create a new life, a better life, for themselves and their families.
As we strive to protect our heritage, we must never forget that we must also strive to be better, to have the courage to look to the future, and to honor that pioneer spirit that would never just accept things the way they were. For just as those pioneers created the state we know and love today, we will pioneer the Wyoming of tomorrow."
